EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint Announcement in Dunklin County

Captain G.E. Ridens, Commanding Officer, Troop E, announces that sometime during the month of May 2006, a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted in Dunklin County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies will conduct the checkpoint.

Sobriety checkpoints are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts and accidents.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol urges all citizens to report any vehicle they observe operating in a careless manner. The public can contact the Highway Patrol toll-free at 1-800-525-555 or on their cellular phone at *55.
