During the Operation Lifesaver Weekend, which began Friday December 15, 2006, and ended on Sunday December 17, 2006, officers investigated 28 traffic crashes, 4 of those involving alcohol. Troop E officers made 17 arrests for driving while intoxicated, issued 106 speeding summonses, 110 seat belt summonses, 8 child restraint summonses, and assisted 69 motorists.

“Throughout this past year, the Patrol has conducted numerous operations like these,” stated Captain Ridens. “We encourage motorists to do their part in keeping our highways safe by not drinking and driving, and wearing their seat belts.”
