On Friday October 15, 2004, a portion of U.S. Highway 60 will be dedicated as a memorial highway honoring a state trooper who lost his life in the furtherance of his duties serving the citizens of this state.

The dedication ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 60 and FR 189, east of Springfield, MO, near the Citizens National Bank of Rogersville. This service will honor Trooper Russell Harper who was shot on February 8, 1987. Tpr. Harper was the 14th member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol to die in the line of duty.
