EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturations Conducted In Troop B Area During The Month Of February 2016


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a DWI saturations conducted in Ralls, Randolph, and Marion counties. The Randolph County saturation was conducted from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on February 7, 2016. The saturation conducted in Marion and Ralls counties was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on February 20, 2016. During the enforcement operations, officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operations, officers, issued 21 traffic citations and 81 warnings. The following is a list of traffic citations issued:
6 ─ Citations were issued for exceeding the speed limit.
10 ─ Citations were issued for seat belt violations.
2 ─ Citations were issued for non-moving violations.
2 ─ Citations were issued for driver’s license violations.
1 ─ Citation was issued for an insurance violation.
Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
