EMPHASIS:
Troop B To Conduct Enforcement Operations On Mark Twain Lake
Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces sometime during the month of May 2018, troopers will conduct an enforcement saturation on Mark Twain Lake. The purpose of the saturation is to detect hazardous boating violations and remove impaired boaters from the waterway.
"Special enforcement operations such as these enable the Missouri State Highway Patrol to enhance our efforts in removing dangerous boat operators from our waterways," stated Captain Wilt. "Operating a boat in a dangerous manner or while impaired endangers everyone who enjoys our state’s waterways."
Captain Wilt urges boaters and lakegoers to help law enforcement efforts to apprehend impaired or dangerous boaters. If you suspect a boater is impaired or observe a boat being driven in an erratic manner, contact the nearest law enforcement agency. The Highway Patrol toll-free numbers for reporting emergencies are 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55.
Watercraft operators must consider the effect their actions have on others. Share the waterway and use common sense, good judgement, and courtesy to ensure the safety of all. Life jackets save lives. Wear It! Follow Troop B on Twitter for the most current news @MSHPTrooperB
