EMPHASIS: Arrest Made Regarding Abandoned Corpse

Captain Kyle Marquart, director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announces the arrest of Cassidy N. King, 25, of Moberly, Missouri, for the abandonment of a corpse.

On May 8, 2011, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol were called to an area approximately two miles west of Higbee, Missouri, on Missouri Route H, in reference to a newborn infant found deceased in a duffle bag. As a result of the investigation, King was arrested for the abandonment of a corpse. She is being held in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond.

The above charge is mere accusation and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
