EMPHASIS: Drug Investigation

Captain Luke Vislay, director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announces the results of a joint undercover narcotics investigation in New Madrid County.

On March 6, 2008, members of the South Eastern Missouri Drug Task Force and the Boot Heel Drug Task Force served a search warrant at 8904 State Highway 162, Gideon, Missouri. During this search, officers seized an active clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, and a quantity of cold medication containing pseudoephedrine, an ingredient used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Officers arrested Robert Wilson, 44, and James Richmond, 32, both of Gideon, Missouri, for attempted manufacture of methamphetamine. The suspects arrested were taken to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office pending the filing of charges by the New Madrid County prosecuting attorney.

The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
