Captain Scott Shipers Announces Promotion of Corporal Russ Shaul
Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces effective July 1, 2019, Corporal Russell “Russ” W. Shaul was promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 11, which serves Cass County. Shaul was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 1, 1999, as part of the 76th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Johnson County, Zone 12. He was promoted to corporal in August 2009, and remained in Johnson County.
Shaul was born in Keokuk, Iowa. He graduated from Brookfield High School, in Brookfield, Missouri in 1989. Before joining the Patrol, he attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and served in the United States Marine Corps. Sergeant Shaul is married to Peggy (Davis), who is originally from Laclede, Missouri, and they have three children, Nicole, 26, Andrew, 25, and Adam, 22.
