EMPHASIS: Captain Billy R. Nelson Graduates from Leadership Missouri

Colonel James F. Keathley, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol commends Captain Billy R. Nelson, who recently graduated from Leadership Missouri, which is sponsored by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Capt. Nelson was one of 34 qualified candidates who completed the 2006 Leadership Missouri program. This program is a seven-month intensive course designed to help business, government, and civic leaders better understand the operations of Missouri business and government. It also clarifies the goals of the state’s elected and appointed officials. Governor Matt Blunt serves as the honorary chair of the Leadership Missouri program.

Capt. Nelson is a 34-year veteran of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He is the director of the Driver Examination Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO.

“I congratulate Capt. Nelson on this achievement,” said Col. Keathley. “He is a fine example of the type of dedicated, civic minded people employed by the Patrol. Leadership Missouri is a great opportunity for those who attend to broaden their knowledge of how state government and businesses interact.”
