EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned To Troop E


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, is pleased to announce the assignment of two new troopers to Southeast Missouri. The new troopers are members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 101st Recruit Class that graduated from the Patrol Academy on December 18, 2015.

Trooper Lee E. Hughes Jr., of Marion, South Carolina, has been assigned to Zone 1, which serves the citizens of Butler and Ripley counties. Trooper Hughes is a graduate from Marion High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management from Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee. Trooper Hughes is married to Amanda (Stepp) Hughes and they have two children. Trooper Hughes' field training officer will be Corporal Corey W. Tucker.

Trooper Taremba Karizamimba, of Sikeston, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 6, which serves the citizens of Mississippi, New Madrid, and Scott counties. Trooper Karizamimba holds an Associate of Science degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri. Trooper Karizamimba is married to Corinne (Allen) Karizamimba and they have two children. Trooper Karizamimba's field training officer will be Trooper Joseph S. Palmer


Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
