EMPHASIS: Lieutenant Kevin A. Geiger Promoted To Captain


Colonel Ron K. Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces that effective December 1, 2010, Lieutenant Kevin A. Geiger is being promoted to the rank of captain and designated director of the Driver Examination Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City.

Captain Geiger was appointed to the Patrol on January 5, 1981, as a member of the 54th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, his first assignment was to Troop C, Zone 15, Franklin County. In 1982, Geiger transferred to Zone 5, St. Louis County. In 1990, he was promoted to corporal and designated officer-in-charge of marijuana eradication/salvage for Troop C. He transferred to the Aircraft Division in 1993, and served as a pilot for the Troop C area. He was promoted to sergeant in 1995. Geiger was assigned to the Division of Drug and Crime Control, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, as a criminal investigator in 1998. He was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to the Professional Standards Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, in 1999. Geiger transferred to Troop C in 2002, and then to the Gaming Division, General Headquarters, in 2006.

Capt. Geiger was born in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Lindbergh High School, in St. Louis, in 1974. Prior to joining the Patrol, he served as a patrolman for the St. Louis County Police Department from 1977-1981. He attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy in Quantico, VA, in 2003.
