EMPHASIS: Sergeant Mike Woods, 34-Year Veteran, Retires.









The Missouri State Highway Patrol honors Sergeant Mike Woods and his 34 years of dedicated service with the announcement of his retirement. Sergeant Woods has proudly served the Patrol throughout his career and left the organization better because of his service.



Sergeant Woods was born in Mt. Vernon, Missouri and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1966. After graduating high school Mike attended Crowder College and worked for Monett Police Department for a short time. In 1971 Sergeant Woods was appointed to the Patrol and upon graduation from the academy was assigned to Troop D, Greenfield, Missouri. He transferred to Greene County in 1983, was promoted to Corporal in Greene County in 1984 and then later to Sergeant in 1991. Sergeant Woods transferred to Troop D’s Interstate Zone in 1994, where he became very active in drug interdiction.



Mike is married to the former Diane Minor of Monett, Missouri and has two grown children. Woods plans on furthering his law enforcement career as a Marshal for the Court of Appeals, Southern District.
