EMPHASIS: Colonel James F. Keathley Announces Transfer


Colonel James F. Keathley announces Lieutenant Gary L. Moore will transfer to the Gaming Division and be designated assistant director effective October 1, 2006.


Lieutenant Moore is a 25-year veteran of the Patrol. He graduated from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in 1981, as a member of the 54th Recruit Class. His first assignment was Troop H, Zone 4, Grundy and Mercer counties. In 1990, Moore was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone commander of Zone 2, Nodaway and Worth counties. He was promoted to sergeant in 1994, and designated zone commander of Zone 3, Harrison and Gentry counties. In October 1997, he transferred to the Governor’s Security Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City. In March 2001, he became assistant director of that division. Moore was promoted to lieutenant and designated director of the Governor’s Security Division in June 2001. In September 2006, he transferred to Field Operations Bureau and was designated Homeland Security Coordinator.


Lt. Moore was born in Marshall, MO, son of the late O.D. and Katie Moore, and stepson of Peggy Moore. He graduated from Chillicothe R-II High School in 1971. Moore served in the United States Navy for three years and was honorably discharged in 1973. Lt. Moore attended the National Traffic Management Institute in Warrensburg, MO, in 1976. Lt. Moore has two children: Amanda Cullin of Clyde, MO; and Bryan Nigh of Los Angeles, CA. He is the proud grandfather of two grandsons and one granddaughter.
