EMPHASIS: Captain Ridens Announces Promotions of Sergeant Joseph M. Weadon III, and Corporal Michael D. Lynch


Captain G.E. Ridens, commanding officer, Troop E, announced effective December 23, 2007, the promotion of Corporal Joseph M. Weadon III, to sergeant, and Trooper Michael D. Lynch to corporal. Sergeant Weadon will be the zone supervisor assigned to Zone 6, which includes Scott, New Madrid and Mississippi counties. Corporal Lynch will be the assistant zone supervisor assigned to Zone 4, which includes Cape Girardeau, Scott, and Bollinger counties.

Sgt. Weadon was appointed to the Patrol in January 1997, as a member of the 73rd Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop E, Zone 2, working in Butler and Ripley counties. Sgt. Weadon was promoted to corporal in October 2003, while in Zone 2.

Sgt. Weadon graduated from Central High School in Park Hills, MO, in 1993. He earned an associate’s of science degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in 1997. Sgt. Weadon and his wife, Erica, currently reside in Poplar Bluff, MO.

Cpl. Lynch was appointed to the Patrol in July 1996, as a member of the 72nd Recruit Class. Upon graduation from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop C, Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties. In 1998, he transferred to Troop E, Zone 11, working Stoddard County.

Cpl. Lynch graduated from Hermitage High School in Hermitage, MO, in 1990, and earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in 1996. Cpl. Lynch and his wife, Angela, have one son, Drew, 3.
