EMPHASIS: Results Of Troop E DWI Checkpoint In Cape Girardeau County

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces the results of a DWI checkpoint conducted in Troop E, Cape Girardeau County, beginning at 11 p.m. on July 2, 2011 and ending at 3 a.m. on July 3, 2011. During the operation, troopers were assigned to conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Missouri 74 in Cape Girardeau County. The totals from this checkpoint include:

3-Driving While Intoxicated Arrests
4-Failure to Wear a Seatbelt Summonses
1-Non-Moving Summons
2-Drivers License Summonses
3-Misdemeanor Drug Arrests
5-Misdemeanor Warrant Arrests
1-Felony Driving While Intoxicated Arrest
2-Felony Drug Arrests
83 warnings for various traffic offenses

Captain Ridens stated, “The DWI checkpoints are a part of the Patrol’s effort to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways. The troopers in the Troop E area will continue to pursue this goal.”
