EMPHASIS: Lt. Tom Meyer Transfers To Research & Development Division, GHQ



Colonel James F. Keathley, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol announced the following transfer effective January 7, 2007:



Lt. Thomas L. Meyer will transfer from Troop F Headquarters, Jefferson City, to the Research and Development Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City. In his new position, Lt. Meyer will serve as assistant director of that division.



Meyer was appointed to the Patrol on July 9, 1979, as a member of the 50th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop H, Zone 8, Gallatin. In 1989, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone commander of Troop H, Zone 6, St. Joseph. Meyer was promoted to sergeant and designated zone commander of Troop H, Zone 5, St. Joseph, in 1991. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1998, and transferred to Troop F, Jefferson City.



Lt. Meyer was born in Jefferson City. He graduated from Helias High School in May 1975. In 1979, Lt. Meyer graduated from Central Missouri State University with a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice administration. He is married to Tammy R. (Reeder) and they have two children, Timothy and Amy.
