EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Memorial Day Holiday Traffic Totals





Captain Billy E. Chadwick, Commanding Officer of Troop G releases the following information:



A total of 251 arrests and 192 warnings were issued in conjunction with a Hazardous Moving Violations/S.T.E.P. (Statewide Traffic Enforcement Program) Operation held in Troop G during the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend. The operation was held from 1:00-8:00 p.m. on May 26, 2006. The focus of this operation was US 60, US 63, and Mo. 5 highways. Twenty-three officers were assigned to this effort.



These totals include 1 felony driving while intoxicated arrest, 1 felony drug arrest, 2 other felony arrests, 21 misdemeanor drug arrests, 1 careless & imprudent driving arrest, 153 arrests for speeding, 3 failure to yield arrests, 1 following too close arrest, 36 seat belt arrests, 1 child restraint arrest and 31 non-moving arrests.



Troop G officers worked 24 traffic crashes, resulting in 16 injuries and one fatality over the holiday period. A total of 13 driving while intoxicated arrests were made.
