RE: ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO CONTROL TO HOST CONFERENCE

The Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control in collaboration with the

Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S. is hosting a conference entitled The American Campus and Alcohol. The conference will take place October 24-26 at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri.

The goal of this conference is to provide Missouri college campuses and communities with tools to curb student alcohol abuse. With a strong partnership between colleges and universities, state regulators and their surrounding communities, it is possible to address this important issue with a proactive, multi-faceted approach.

The conference brings together representatives from the beverage alcohol industry, state regulators, college campuses and the community. Each campus-community team is structured to include college and university officials, counselors, students, beverage alcohol industry representatives, law enforcement officials and community leaders. These teams will work to develop specific, action-oriented plans to implement in their communities.

Please RSVP immediately to Kristy Westrich, (573) 751-4092. For hotel reservations, contact the Sheraton Clayton Plaza directly at (888) 337-1395.
