EMPHASIS: September 1 Promotion



Colonel James F. Keathley announces the following promotion effective September 1, 2006:



Sergeant Bruce T. Clemonds Jr. is being promoted to the rank of lieutenant and will remain in his present assignment in the Field Operations Bureau, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO.



Clemonds was appointed to the Patrol on January 5, 1981. Upon completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop C, Zone 6, Warren County. In 1989, he transferred to the Division of Drug and Crime Control, General Headquarters, and was assigned to St. Joseph. In 1995, Clemonds transferred to Troop B, Zone 6, Clark and Scotland counties. After an internship in 1997, he was assigned to the Field Operations Bureau, where he served as grants projects specialist. He was promoted to corporal in 2001, and sergeant in 2003, and remained in his Field Operations Bureau assignment.



Lieutenant Clemonds was born in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1973. In 1987, he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business management from Tarkio College. Lt. Clemonds served in the Missouri Army National Guard, from March 1974 to August 1994. He retired as a military police officer holding the rank of major. Lt. Clemonds and his wife, Denise, have three grown children: Jennifer Weed, of Tebbetts, MO; Jessica Spears, of Irving, Texas; and Bruce Clemonds III, of Cuba, MO. They also have two grandsons: Andrew and William. Lt. Clemonds is the son of Mr. Bruce T. and the late Mrs. Ebba A. Clemonds of Jonesburg, MO.
