EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint to be Held

Captain B.E. Chadwick, Commanding Officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, announces that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Reynolds County sometime in the month of May. The checkpoint will be conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies, and will utilize the Patrol’s B.A.T. Van (Breath Alcohol Testing Vehicle).

Sobriety checkpoints are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts and collisions.

Captain Chadwick says, “The Patrol has no more important task than that of removing drugged and drunk drivers from our highways. We have a firm, zero-tolerance policy toward intoxicated drivers.”
