EMPHASIS: Patrol To Commission New Troopers



The Missouri State Highway Patrol will appoint 33 new troopers upon their graduation from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy. The graduation ceremony will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2006, at the Patrol Law Enforcement Academy gymnasium, 1510 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City. Mr. Michael P. Kelly, director of broadcast operations at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the “voice of the Tigers”, will address the class. The Honorable Ronald D. White, 25th Circuit Court, will administer the Oath of Office to the new troopers. Rev. James Hamlett, West Side General Baptist Church in St. Ann, MO, will give the invocation and benediction.



Twenty-one of the new troopers are candidates for receiving associate’s degrees from Mineral Area College during the ceremony. Other awards to be presented include honors for physical fitness, firearms, academics, and the Superintendent’s Award for overall achievement.



The public and members of the media are invited to attend the ceremony.
