EMPHASIS: Kenley Named Commander Of Troop I, Rolla


Colonel James F. Keathley, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotion effective September 1, 2008:

Lieutenant Lee Ann H. Kenley is being promoted to the rank of captain and designated commanding officer of Troop I, Rolla, MO.

Kenley was appointed to the Patrol on September 1, 1985, as a member of the 57th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, MO, she was assigned to Troop E, Poplar Bluff, MO. In 1989, she transferred to the Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Troop E Unit. Kenley was promoted to the rank of corporal on October 1, 1992. She transferred to Troop C, St. Louis, on February 1, 1994. Kenley was promoted to the rank of sergeant on February 1, 1995. On June 1, 1999, she was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assigned to Troop I, Rolla, MO.

Captain Kenley was born in Kankakee, IL. She graduated from Herscher High School in 1980. Kenley graduated from the Northwestern University Traffic Institute School of Police Staff and Command in Evanston, IL, in 1999. In 2001, she graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. Captain Kenley is married to Samuel C. Kenley. She is the first female troop commander in the history of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
