EMPHASIS: Results Of Troop E Hazardous Moving Violations Saturation

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, announces the results of a Hazardous Moving Violations Saturation conducted in Troop E during the month of May in Butler County. During the operation troopers were assigned to patrol highways that, historically, have experienced a higher number of traffic crashes and hazardous moving violations.
Troopers made 18 arrests during the shift: six arrests for driving while intoxicated, two felony arrests, one misdemeanor drug arrest, and nine misdemeanor warrant arrests. Traffic citations issued by officers included 14 summonses for speeding, 17 for seat belt violations, two for no child restraint, two for stop sign violations, three for no driver’s license, and two nonmoving violations. Troopers also issued 99 warnings for various other traffic violations during the operation.
Captain Ridens stated, “The impaired driver continues to be a major contributor to serious traffic crashes in southeast Missouri. DWI and hazardous driving saturations are a part of the Patrol’s effort to remove intoxicated and dangerous drivers from Missouri roadways. The troopers in the Troop E area will continue to pursue this goal.”
