EMPHASIS:
Troop C To Participate In July 4th Holiday Travel Crash Reduction Effort.
Captain Ron Johnson,
commanding officer of Troop C, Wheldon Spring, announces that
in an effort to promote safety and reduce traffic crashes, the Missouri State Highway Patrol will have additional troopers patrolling on designated interstates and highways on July 1, 2016, from 1200 hours to 2400 hours, and on July 4, 2016, from 1000 hours to 2200 hours. This means every available trooper will be on the road targeting all traffic violations and will be especially vigilant of aggressive driving violations. Troopers assigned to this enforcement effort will be patrolling a 20 mile length on Interstate 44 and Interstate 70, or designated highway assigned to them.
“Many people will be traveling on Missouri’s highways during the holiday. We ask motorists to be patient and courteous while traveling during this busy time of the year,” stated Captain Johnson. “Troopers will be enforcing traffic laws and assisting those who are stranded. The troopers assigned to Troop C are committed to making our highways safe for everyone. Please take the job of driving seriously. Do not drink and drive, obey the speed limit, pay attention, and buckle up.”
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober. “Don’t Violate The Trust.”
