EMPHASIS: Troop E Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Butler County on June 15, 2013. A total of 302 vehicles were stopped during the four-hour operation. Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made the following enforcement contacts:

3 -- Driving While Intoxicated Arrests
8 -- Seat Belt Summonses
1 -- Child Restraint Summons
1 -- Non-Moving Summons
8 -- Driver’s License Summonses
2 -- Uninsured Motorist Summonses
3 -- Drug Arrests
1 -- Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest
2 -- Misdemeanor Criminal Arrests
55 -- Warnings

The focus of law enforcement is to enforce all laws and apprehend violators. The goal of DWI enforcement projects is to deter impaired driving and to make citizens aware that drinking and driving will not be tolerated. To report a suspected intoxicated driver dial 9-1-1 or *55 on your cell phone.
