Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint held on December 12, 2008, in Butler County.
Troopers made 35 arrests during the checkpoint. Five arrests were for driving while intoxicated, 12 arrests were for outstanding warrants, three arrests were for felony drug violations, and 15 arrests were for non-moving violations. Troopers also issued 70 warnings during the checkpoint.
Captain Ridens stated, “The impaired driver continues to be a major contributor to serious traffic crashes in southeast Missouri.
