EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop on I-55 Results in Drug Arrest

On January 19, 2007, at approximately 2230 hours a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped to check a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero blocking traffic in the roadway on I-55 at the 27-mile marker at the intersection of Route A in Pemiscot County.

The driver, Jordan L. Sayge, 25, of Carmen, Illinois, was checked for well being and blocking the roadway. Sayge told the officer he had marijuana in his car, and consented to a search of the vehicle he was operating resulting in the seizure of 2 pounds of marijuana. Jordan L. Sayge was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and taken to the Pemiscot County Jail.

The charges for which Jordan L. Sayge was arrested for are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented in court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
