EMPHASIS:
Six New Troopers Assigned To Troop A
Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer Troop A, Lee’s Summit, is pleased to announce the assignment of six new troopers within the Troop A area. The new troopers were members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 109th Recruit Class that graduated from the Patrol Academy on June 26, 2020. The new troopers will report for duty, in their respective assignments, on July 13, 2020.
Trooper Jonathon R. Boydston, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, which serves the citizens of Platte County. Trooper Boydston graduated from Staley High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon graduating high school, he attended American Military University in Charles Town, West Virginia.
Trooper Margarito Gallo Mejia, a native of Norfolk, Nebraska, has also been assigned to Zone 2, which serves the citizens of Platte County. Trooper Mejia graduated from Denison High School in Denison, Iowa. He holds an Associate of Arts in criminal justice from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He also attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Prior to his appointment with the Patrol, Trooper Mejia enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
Trooper Colin E. Osborne, a native of Rockford, Illinois, has been assigned to Zone 9, which serves the citizens of Lafayette County. Trooper Osborne graduated from Auburn High School in Rockford, Illinois. He holds a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Trooper Osborne also currently serves in the Army National Guard.
Trooper Kevin M. Cox, a native of Fort Polk, Louisiana, has been assigned to Zone 11, which serves the citizens of Cass County. Trooper Cox graduated from Raymore-Peculiar High School in Peculiar, Missouri. Trooper Cox serves also serves in the United States Army Reserves.
Trooper Tanner L. Wallace, a native of Springfield, Missouri, has also been assigned to Zone 11, which serves the citizens of Cass County. Trooper Wallace graduated from Ozark High School in Ozark, Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri.
Trooper Thomas J. Whitaker, a native of Joplin, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 12, which serves the citizens of Johnson County. Trooper Whitaker is a home school graduate from Joplin, Missouri. He holds an Associate of Arts in criminal justice from Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri.
